If the application crashed, Apple's CrashReports can be extremely useful in fixing the problem. If you'd like to include a crash report they can be found in ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/ApplicationName_Date_HostName.crash. Open up the newest report for the application and copy/paste the contents here.
