Socks Bulletins and FAQs
-
Q: Can Socks 2.x be used alongside Socks 1.x?
A: Yes
-
Q: Why does Socks appear to lock-up when verifying the volume structure of the startup volume?
A: This is normal behavior. Checking the startup volume requires putting the volume
into "HFS Freeze State" to prevent the reading or writing of data. Depending on the size of the volume and the number
of files, the process can take 1-10+ minutes. Progress information will not be available during the check, but normal
interface behavior will resume when the verification is complete.

Q: Will Socks support future versions of Mac OS?

-
Q: How long is a registration for Socks valid?
A: A "major" version. ie. All versions 2.0 - 2.x will be free upgrades, but version
3.0 will likely incur a small upgrade fee.
